Obviously I want to carry as little as possible. However as a group we will be going clubbing quite a lot. In the UK many clubs do not allow trainers or shorts. Im going to Netherlands, Germany, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary etc.. Will i need to take clubbing clothes (ie another pair of good shoes) or from experience, have you always seemed to get away with trainers?

JD :D

Depends on who you are/what you want to do. Obviously there will be clubs that have dress code in all of those places, but if you ask around in the hostel theyll be able to recommend places that dont. It depends if you want the sticky floored student dive (like me) or something a little more civilised

Clubbing in Europe is amazing, mate... I took 3 pairs of shoes with me, 2 trainers and 1 good pair. I lost 2 pairs, leaving me only with brownish trainers and they sufficed (were not white, athletic ones though).

Definitely bring a more formal pair of shoes for the big clubs... though generally in the NL and Germany, they wear trainers out anyway.
