Hi!
I'm from Serbia, 23 yo student, and I am going to visit my brother in UK (Newcastle) this July.
I am flying to London by plane, and the rest of the journey by train. My plans are to visit other parts of UK, by train of course (5-6 days max).
I will have UK visa only, so I can't travel all the way by trains.
What should I do? Should I buy Interrail ticket just for that, or will it be less expensive to travel regular via trains/buses?
Please help

You can check standard prices at [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/greatbritain[/ux]

Information about the UK: https://rail.cc/en/united-kingdom/xuk

If you are doing a lot of long intercity travel (London to Scotland or the North, or down to the South West) then an IR ticket is probably worth it. A standard return London - Newcastle is £105:

OK, thanks.
And if I buy Interrail ticket for UK, I will be able to travel 2nd class on any destination within UK with no additional cost?
For example, I can go one day return journies to any part of UK, without paying additional money, only showing the pass?
Will the two journies count as one day?
I'm thinking of returning to London by train for my flight to Belgrade, so will it count as one day on my Interrail pass?

There are only 3 trains with suppliments in the UK, and these are sleeper to Scotland and Cornwall. All the others are free of suppliments. You can take as many trains as you want on one day, it will still only count as one day.

Thanks!
You helped me a lot!
Just one more thing, and I wont bother you any more :)
How much in advance do I need to reserve my tickets for trains if I want to get a seat. Can I do it from UK, day before, or I will have to do it as soon as possible from here. I heard the trains are crowded.
Thank you a lot once more!

It depends, on some trains (mainly local ones) you cant reserve a seat. On most trains you will be able to get a free reservation if you show your IR ticket I think. Some companies (NXEC, who operate the route to Newcastle) have started charging £5 for this. If you plan on leaving london in the middle of the day you should get a seat no problems. If you leave between 1700-1900, you probably wont

On the sleeper trains you only need to pay a supplement for a cabin - for a reclining seat (very comfortable) you only have to make a free reservation.
The reservation cost for NXEC trains is 5 GBP for the return journey, thus 2,50 GBP for a one-way reservation, if I remember correctly.

Guys, and i have one more question about InterRail in UK. For example, I want to go from London to Cambridge. So, I don't needany seat reservation, because the train goes only 50 minutes. BUT, om some stations and in cambridge also there are turnstiles (machines for checking tickets). So, do I need to ask at London Ticket Office for a free ticket for theese machines?

It should be sufficient to show your ticket an official at the station and he'll open the gates for you (this was the case last year in Loughborough and shouldn't be a problem in Cambridge at least). If you have to leave at a smaller station go and ask at the office or counter at the relevant station in London and they will surely tell you what to do. :)

there should always be a person by the gates who will let you through with your pass
