Hello,
I'm planning to go from Paris to somewhere in Switzerland. I was searching for this connection and I found it in this site. It is the TGV Lyria. It is written that we have to pay extra 5€ each journey using interrail card. It is always that price? It is reasonable to make the reservation at the station 2 or 3 hours before?
Thanks

I've you want to go with TGV Lyria you have to pay the 5€ supplement/reservation fee. I always try to make reservations as soon as possible; there is a certain amount of seats in each TGV for journeys with InterRail, if they are fully booked you will have to look for another connection.
An alternative route Paris - Switzerland would be (without supplements/compulsory reservation):
Paris 0711 - Basel 1309 (change in Belfort, Mulhouse)
Paris 1313 - Basel 1839 (change in Mulhouse)
Paris 1509 - Basel 2102 (change in Mulhouse)
Paris 1649 - Basel 2211 (change in Mulhouse)

if you use tgv on short distances in switzland(i.e. zurich - basel) you do not have to make reservation.

You can find them https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route here for instance. I mostly use the route planner on öbb.at though. And of course the Thomas Cook European Railway Timetable is something I dont leave the house without. ;)

The trains mentioned are the slower trains from Mulhouse to Paris and v.v. and are not compulsory reservation. If you search for Mulhouse - Paris on the www.voyages-sncf.com site, these trains are shown as 'Corail' or 'Intercites'. Trains shows as TGV or TGV Lyria are subject to compulsory reservations. The slow trains are perfectly fine, although looking a little tired these days, but are much emptier than the TGVs in my experience.'
