Hi

Just wondering if I need to book hostels or trains in advance?

Going in June till July 7th so not quite the school holidays. Does this make it a lot quieter (and therefore I can be a bit more spontaneous) or should i still book a couple of things?

I've put a deposit on 2 hostels (for the night I get there and the night before I fly home) so is that enough?? Are trains busy during this time?

Thanks in advance!

Julia x

In popular places in western europe (Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin...) decent hostels will get booked up. Trains out of cities heading for holiday destinations on Friday evenings/Coming back sunday evenings will be busy. Remember European school holidays tend to start earlier than they to in the UK (ie beginning of July)

If you absolutley have to be somewhere then book in advance. If you dont mind having to wait another day for a train/not get your first choice of hostel then dont bother
