Ok, here is my deal. I am taking the night train from Budapest to Stuttgart, that leaves at 19:05, but I need to transfer on another train to Heidelberg in the morning, which is only 30 some minutes. Is there any way, I can do this and just use one of my travelling days? If i buy the ticket separately for the second part it will still cost like 24 euros just for the 30 some minutes, so I'm a bit bummed out. Any ideas or thoughts? I've also heard that they don't really check or mind, but so far nobody at the information desks has been able to help me... it's like they don't even understand the regulations. I'm thinking I might be able to get away with it? But I don't want to get in trouble either.

Thanks!

If your night train leaves after 1900, it counts as the next day. So you can travel on as many trains as you like on that day, it still only counts as one!

Hey,
Thanks for your reply, I'm not sure if that's okay though, because it says the train has to be direct? That's what I'm confused about, but I guess I'll see what happens.

That means you cant take a train at 1930, change at 2330 onto another train.
