Is it possible to sleep with three persons in a two persons compartment in a night train. Do they allow it or not?
Did someone already tried it. Did you asked the train staff?

no - if they catch you (which they probably will) Every person needs a reservation for a bed.

it's not about money, as far as i know the compartments in night trains consist of 2 beded rooms, bu we will go interrail 3 people. beacuse of safety issiues, we want to stay together.
maybe if we pay for 3 person they will allow us to stay in a 2 person compartment.

well if you have 3 reservation(of course in not the same compartment because it's not possible) on the begining of trip conductor will check yours ticket and he probably will not see you until the end of trip. so in this time, if you like, you can be even in 4 person in 2 person compartment. conductor probably will take yours ticket and will give back on the finish so it's better to be in own place on the finish.
so on the begining of the trip stay in own places and after control do what you want.

unlikely - ironically because of safety. They will only be insured for a certain number of people per compartment etc. If the train crashes and they have sold three tickets for a 2 bed couchette they will be in all sorts of trouble. This doesnt mean you couldnt book a bed in another compartment and then hope the guard doesnt kick you out. Which seems completly pointless seen as youve paid for a comfortable nights sleep and will get an uncomfortable one.
If there is something so valuable that you cannot trust the one stranger that has access to it (all couchettes/sleepers are lockable from the inside, not even the guard can get in) then leave it with the others in the full compartment. Many trains have 3 person sleepers, maybe look into that.
