Hi

Just wanting some advice on where is good to go in Poland??

We're definitely spending a day or two in Krakow and then going to Auschwitz for a visit too.

But heading to Berlin after Poland, so looking for something scenic up north perhaps? Has anyone been to Gdansk? Is it easy to get to by train?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Julia

There are trains almost every hour from Warszawa to Gdansk. These trains are either TLK, IC or Ex, supplements: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/poland/pl

There is a direct night train from Gdansk to Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/gdansk-to-berlin

There are also day connections via Gdansk (~8 hours) or Szczecin and Angermünde (~10 hours).

Sorry, cant tell you anything about places to go to as i've never been to Poland.

If you want to spend some good time in Poland i could be Gdansk but also worth seeing places are Poznan nad Wroclaw.

If you will decide to go to Gdansk:
some usefull informations you can find here http://www.en.gdansk.gda.pl/culture
Gdansk has splendid Old Market!
If you will be there don't miss cities witch are near: Sopot (http://sopot.pl/eGmina/en/touristzone/#/city/) and Gdynia (http://www.gdynia.pl/eng/tourism/4585_.html) and Ship Races in Gdynia! :) http://zagle.miasto.gdynia.pl/en
From Krakow you have some direct trains to Gdansk but you can change train in Warsow...

Poznan:
There is some places to see like Old Market, Malta Lake (http://www.poznan.pl/mim/public/turystyka/object.html?id_cz=0&id_klasy=2574&id_obiektu=41237&lang=en&lhs=chapters&rhs=search) and other about which you can find some informations here: http://www.poznan.pl/mim/public/turystyka/?lang=en
and for youth ;) some place where you can go and have some fun:
- Something more than shopping center - Stary Browar http://starybrowar5050.com/en/ with SQ Club http://www.sqklub.pl/index.php?m=info_oklubie&lang=en
From Krakow you can get to Poznan some direct fast-trains (without supplements) via Wroclaw (or change train in Wroclaw) ...
Also you can go via Warsow by trains TLK, EX, IC with change in Warsow but with supplements on each train...
it takes about 6-8 hours...

Wroclaw:
Of course - Old Market with beautifull ghotic churches, Ostrow Tumski (part of Old City situated on island!) - http://www.wroclaw.pl/p/2935/
and you will find some more informations on this official site of Wroclaw http://www.wroclaw.pl/m6862/
From Krakow you have some direct fast-trains and TLK... or you can change train in Katowice (on EX, IC)

So, enjoy! :)
