Hi,

I'm going interrailing in the summer for 5 weeks with 2 other mates. we're travelling through greece, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, Holland, Belgium, and France. Could someone with experience please tell me whether it's necessary to always wear a money belt? as from a comfort point of view, i'd rather not!

We did - you get used to it!

If youre in a hostel with lockers you could put your IR ticket/passport/credit/debit card (the three most important things) in there, but the hostel are unlikely to be insured for loss.

I used to keep €50 in my sock for real emergencies

Oi!

I have a question: I have a travell wallet almost like this:
a1472.g.akamaitech.net/f/1472/124/36h/img.ebags.com/is/image/im6/150036_1_1?&op_sharpen=1&op_usm=1,1,1&qlt=80&hei=280&wid=280

It has enough space for money, ID card, Interrail Pass, Lighter, Cigarettes ---> Important things to be near me.

I don't have a money belt, so i'm thinking to take this with me, and use it, but i want to keep it in front. Do you guys think, that this bag is safe, if keepen in front and not on my side?

Hi.

I think it is safe ... European cities are the same ... you can be robbed in your home town as well like in Paris, Rome, ...
Important is always to have your money and values at a save place during the night - in a locker of a hostel or somewhere else.

Peter :)
