I am beginning interrailing on 23rd june in Paris. My ideal route would be paris-brussells-amsterdam-munich-zagreb-athens-rome-barcelona then back to paris for my return flight home. I sthere anybody who has attempted a similar route. I am doind the 22day with 10day travel ticket. Any suggestions would be much appreciated of how to get from zagreb to athens or am i being too optomistic including greece in my travels?

mmmh... for 10 travel days it is very optimistic. in Eastern Europe you always have to calculate that one train is in delay and you miss an other... sometimes it happens, sometimes not. just to mention it. :) but that's as well the experience of travelling in Eastern Europe ... it is fun! :)
for ZAGREB to ATHENS you have to travel via BELGRADE and THESSALONIKI ... have a look at the train schedules: https://rail.cc/en/train/zagreb-to-athens

also have a look at the country topics where you can find all the night trains on your way !!

Paris - Bruxelles: 1 travel day
Bruxelles - Amsterdam: 1 travel day
Amsterdam - Munich: 1 travel day (Night train leaves Amsterdam at 20.31)
Munich - Zagreb: 1 travel day (Night train leaves Munich at 23.40)
Zagreb - Athens: 2 travel days
Athens - Rome: 2 travel days
Rome - Barcelona 2 travel days

Makes a total of already 10 travel days. :|

It should be possible to travel within three days from athens to barcelona; from barcelona to paris it is possible to travel in one day. I fear you have to cancel one city from your list.
And consider that you would be traveling almost exclusively by night, which can be fun, but you would lose the chance to travel through beuatiful landscapes.
