I would like to travel to Prague and back from Germany on trains ALX 355 and ALX 354 which are run by a private operator Vogtlandbahn. I tried to reserve seats from the travel centre at Brussels Midi (I'm currently staying in Belgium). However, although they tried they were not able to reserve seats on these trains. It also doesn't seem possible to reserve via the DB website (you can buy tickets, but not get the reservation on its own).
Does anyone know if it is possible to reserve on these trains and if so, how to do so? Will a DB station e.g. Cologne be able to make the reservation? Or is it not necessary to reserve on these trains (I will be travelling 1st class).
Thanks!

Hi.
This is a kind of regional train - free to use for InterRailers. and as it is a regional train, you can't reserve seats.
Munich - Prague: https://rail.cc/en/train/munich-to-prague

Thanks, but do you know where I can reserve the seats? At Brussels Midi they couldn't do it, although they could reserve other German trains. Do I have to go to a German station?

on friday, june 5, 2 of us in Munich hope to catch the 8:44am ALX 355 (aka R 355) to prague. we must leave prague on monday june 8 on the 9:11am train (R 354, aka ALX 354). what are the odds that we can both buy 1st class, round trip seats on these specific trains & actually sit together in 1st class, if we wait til june 3 to buy them? will there be enough available seating??
ALSO, is there a place in munich's international airport (where we arrive from the USA on june 3) where we can buy these train tickets when we de-plane?
thanks for your help.

de-plane? I love that word
Shoudlnt be a problem at all, 2 days before. You can probably buy them at Munich Airport, at the station there, otherwise just buy it at the Hbf.

Normally there should be one first class carriage with 48 seats; I dont think that it will be full on either journey. You should be able to make reservations when you're in Munich at the Hauptbahnhof and at least for your return trip it shouldn't be a problem to get two adjacent seats but I guess it shouldn't be a problem for the journey to Prag either.
I dont think that there is a counter at the airport but you can buy the ALX tickets at the Hauptbahnhof or even on the trains. :)
Anyway you surely can buy tickets for the S-Bahn to Hauptbahnhof at the Airport if you would like to go this way.
