Im planning on travelling Europe in June - 22 days consecutive. This will be my first time travelling Europe (from South Africa), Im 31yrs, and travelling alone. I plan on travelling Eastern and Central Europe. Could anyone give me some advice or help on travel routes, safety, etc? . Im based in th UK - is best to start from belgium or France, or to rather fly in to Slovakia/Hungary, for example? Would really appreciate any comments.

If you want to travel around central and eastern europe in makes more sense to fly out and start somewhere out there, especially if you can get cheap flights. Its more fun (and greener) doing it by train though.

Just be aware if your heading down to SE Europe (Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Bulgaria etc) Its much easier to travel by bus than by train, since only very major cities are linked infrequently and very slowly by trin.
