Hi, My friend (both female, 20) and I are planning on interrailing our way around Europe for a month this summer but are having a few problems finalising our route....
We are flying into Prague, and out of Madrid - this is the proposed route:
Prague - Vienna - Budapest - Zagreb - Veice - Rome - Nice - Barcalona - Madrid
Anyone have any comments on whether this is too optimistic/going to cause us trouble/we should avoid any of these places??
Particular help on how easy it is to get between Rome and Nice, and between Nice and Barcalona would be especially appreciated because those are the train journeys that we are struggling to work out at the moment.
Thanks!
Peter

hej ...
the route sounds good... nothing to add.
for train schedules: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
pay attention to the supplements, especially in Italy - but you can always avoid them: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
example Roma - Nice by day train without supplements:
Roma Trastevere Dep: 06:24
Pisa Centrale Arr: 10:15
Pisa Centrale Dep: 11:09
La Spezia Centrale Arr: 12:19
La Spezia Centrale Dep: 12:55
Ventimiglia Arr: 18:11
Ventimiglia Dep: 18:25
Nice Ville Arr: 19:12
example Nice-Barcelona by day train without supplements:
Nice Ville Dep: 08:37
Marseille-St-Charles Arr: 11:10
Marseille-St-Charles Dep: 12:18
Avignon Centre Arr: 14:11

Barcelona Sants Arr: 22:56

Thank you for that. Has put my mind at rest about those journeys. However, I'm now having trouble finding a train from Venice to Roma that doesn't leave at 3am! It seems to me that the only train going from Venezia Mestre to Roma Termini goes at 3:11 everyday which seems a very strange time to me?? Any ideas?

when are you looking for? The summer timetable might not be fully online yet. At the moment your best bet would be an IC leaving 1322, arriving 1916, no suppliment, direct
