Hi :) I created this topic in order to know if is there any possibility to depart from Porto and travel to Paris without the Sud-Expresso.

With Sud-Expresso, we could take a train to Coimbra and then pick the Sud-Expresso to Hendaye.

But we consider it a little expensive, even with the interrail ticket's discount so, is there any chance of going from Porto to Hendaye in regional trains that are covered by the ticket?

From Hendaye we could pick up TGV to Paris and that would be only 9 to 15 euros with the discount, right?

Thanks a lot!

I think there is no other reasonable way than to use Sud Espresso.

There are two trains a day at the Valenca/Tui border crossing in the north of portugal, but you dont have any useful connections to continue your travel. Even if there was a connection it might be more expensive than the Sud Espresso, which is relatively cheap at ~7€ for a seat in a regular compartment.

There are trains from Coimbra to the border but they do not cross it. On the spanish side there are no trains from the border to Salamanca expect the Sud Espresso.

The TGV supplement is 3€, in peak times 10€.
