Hello ...

I planned to get interrail flexi 10 in 22 days ...

One of the route that I am planing to travel - from Salzburg to Zurich on night train ...

Euronight, EN 466 which depart from SAlzburg 00:44 to Zurich 06:20

I checked from [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] .. it was stated there Subject to compulsory reservation, train of ÖBB domestic traffic, 2nd class only seated accommodation, Sleeping-car, Couchettes .......

Does interrail valid for this route as well ? Does it require expensive supplements, like Milan-Barcelona night train ??

How much is the supplement charges ? and reservations charges ?

Another question :

Because we are 2 girls travelling alone, so safety is quite an important issue ...

Is it safe in Salzburg train station ??

We planned to travel from Munich to Salzburg, make a day trip in Salzburg, and heading to Zurich at night ....

So we will probably wait in train station for a couple of hours before train leaves ... .

Is there luggage storage in Salzburg train statioin ?? How much does it cost ?

I've stayed several times at night in Salzburg Hbf and it always was a quite and safe stay. There is a waiting area at the central platform where you can stay. Salzburg is a hub of international night trains so its quite busy the whole night true and there shouldnt be any problems. :)

There are luggage lockers, i guess they might cost ~4 for 24 hours, depending on the size of the locker.

The term Subject to compulsory reservation, train of ÖBB domestic traffic means that for travels within austria there is no compulsory reservation, but for international journeys there is.

Hi,
Im gonna be traveling on this train in the opposite direction (Zurich - Vienna) in the middle of June, with an InterRail Global Pass. I am assuming I only need a reservation and not the regular ticket to get a couchette on the train. However, when I try to buy at the OBB site, I dont see any option that allows me to buy only the reservation and not the full ticket.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks
Suchit

Hi Suchit.

Exactly, you only need the supplement:
https://rail.cc/en/night-train/zurich-vienna-en-467/63

But you can NOT buy this supplement online - not at the oebb.at (Austrian national railway company), not at the sbb.ch (Switzerland national rail company) website.
You will have to do it at a train station.

Peter :)

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the prompt reply! Do you think it would be possible to get a ticket at the last moment? I am just connecting via Zurich and wont be there till like 2 hours before the departure of the train! :(

Hi!

Unless you are travelling at a weekend, where the train might be fully booked, that shouldnt be a problem. However, you can get this reservation at other train stations too, you dont have to get it at Zürich HB. So you could get it some days in advance at the place you'll be staying then. :)
