Hi there again :D

I'm planning an interrail next year and the money I can save is from my allowance. So per month I can save about 40€... Without counting some special events.

I've never considered camping before but the places we want to visit haven't cheap hostels, like Paris, or London...

What do you advise about camping? are there special places to do it? How much does it cost? Is it safe? How can we guarantee that we aren't robbed while sleeping?

Thanks,

Patricia

I gave up camping I don't think it's worth the time or the money.
Most of the camps are far away from the big cities so you will have to spend time and money to get there.
The money you will spend on buses or trains to get there you could find a cheaper hostel in the center of the city.

That's only my opinion ;)

I join earthfirsts opinion... exactly the same.
only if you want to spent some days at the beaches or in real nature, a tent is worth to carry with you trough Europe. :)

It depends where you're going.. the bigger places like London and Paris you would be better of with a hostel.
I used a tent in Italy last summer in the smaller places like Pompei and Ventigmilia... so for smaller places it's a good way to save a bit of money, but I wouldn't recomment it for the bigger places as you would be situated far from the city center.

Hi all :)

The idea of camping is still on the table and it's the most viable.

Yesterday we saw some interrail equipment and a really good tent was only about 30€.

Plus the sleeping bag, the backpack and the colchonette it was was about...90 €

It seems to be much cheaper then sleeping 2, 3 times in each city in some hostels where the minimal price is about 20€.

Is there any chance of knowing where are the especialized camping places in Paris, London, Amsterdam... Being far from the centre of the city doesn't mind.

We would have to pay to enter those places? And do you have some idea how much?

In this post, I saw someone talking about a card. What are the advantages of the card? And where can we get it?

Sorry about so many questions and really thanks to whom reply us.

I'm going to visit some rural areas in central Europe and maybe camp some nights if possible, just for the sake of variety. I don't want to carry a tent across Europe but a sleeping bag will fit in my rather small backpack, so I wonder if larger campings offer rental tents?
I know of some campings in the Netherlands where this is possible, but Holland is Holland so I don't know about the rest of Europe....? :)

mmmh... Holland the well know country of the campers ...! :)
No I never heard about that in an other country. Sometimes you can rent a small kind of house - but then it becomes expensive again. Peter :)
