Being a student and a little low on cash, I was wondering what people's views are on which are the best countries to visit right now to get the best value for money? Is it better to avoid the euro zone given the current exchange rate? (I'm British by the way) I've been old that places like Bosnia and Hungary are cheap at the moment. Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions??

I definitely recommend Eastern Europe... in the big western cities you pay for a dorm something like EUR 30 per night ... in Eastern Europe ~ EUR 10 ...
countries I personally can recommend are Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia (a lot of beaches), Poland, Slovakia ... :)

yeah, bulgaria was awesome last summer, £5 for 3 course meal + drinks. Bosnia is really cool and pretty cheap, Montenegro less so because of all the serbian tourists heading to the coast in the summer. If you fancy a bit of adventure albania is still meant to be super cheap - its not in interrail though (there are no international trains...). Outside Zagreb croatia isnt too bad - not a patch on bulgaria though! Again, outside Istanbul Turkey is pretty cheap too
