First day of travel

Im sure a lot of people have asked this but I cant find the answer so heres the question:

Does the first day on your flexi global pass have to be a travel day. Eg if i buy it on the 4th july do i need to put down the 4th as a travel day?

Also can you just write travel days in just before you get on a train?

no... the 4th does not has to be your first travel day. it also can be for example the 7th - no problem.
you are completely flexible and free.
fill in a travel day manually in your InterRail ticket just before you jump into a train. that's it !! :)
