Hi everyone,

I'm writing from France, and I was curious to know if even though the Global InterRail ticket is not applied to one's home country, there are some reductions that make travelling, say from spain via France to Belgium, cheaper?
Another question: I have 50% reductions in France and Switzerland, do these apply to the InterRail in some way.

That's all (for the moment :) )

Hi Nicolas.
The rule of the country of residence is really sad. ||
Especially for persons living in such big countries like France, Germany, the UK and so on ..... and if if you only use it as transit country from Spain to Belgium, you have to pay. but I can't change the rules.
So you only get the discount listed here: https://rail.cc/en/how-to-interrail
(France 50% like you said).

Your discount card with which you already get 50%, you can't use it for InterRail to get more discounts.
Sometimes it is useful NOT to use the 50% discount you get by InterRail, it is cheaper to buy a special offer given by the national rail company. if you know the travel dates early enough go on the website of the SNCF and book such a special offer. It should be the best solution for you.
Peter :)

Thank you for your quick answer,
I don't know what I'm gonna do yet but I think it'll be okay if we plan the trip carefully enough.

Man, this website rocks!
