ISTANBUL - ANTALYA | night train (Pamukkale Express)
Departure of the overnight train (Pamukkale Express) in direction of Antalya is in Istanbul the station Haydarpaşa which is on the Asian site.
When coming from Europe you will arrive at Istanbul Sirkeci.
At Istanbul Haydarpaşa you can buy your reservations for seats or beds of this night train.
Always plan enough time as trains coming from Europe (Sofia, Thessaloniki, ...) are often in delay.
:!: To reach Antalya, you have to travel the following route:
The closest train station to Antalya is in Burdur (120km in the north of Antalya). As the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) don't operate direct passenger trains between Istanbul and Burdur, you can travel with the Pamukkale Express, which has sleeper seats (EUR 2), 4 bed cabins (EUR 8) and 2 bed cabins (EUR 15) fomr Istanbul to Dinar.
Leave the train at the final destination in Dinar and transfer to the connecting bus to Burdur provided by TCDD (no extra payment other than your train ticket).
In Burdur catch a minibus for Antalya, which takes one and a half hour and costs EUR 5.
You can also take a direct bus running from Dinar to Antalya. It is cheap (EUR 10).
The night train departure in Istanbul for Dinar and also the train back is always running shortly after 1700h in the evening. Arriving time at 0800h in the morning in Istanbul and Dinar.
For detailed schedules always check the timetables before.
