I want to travel without staying in a hotel so I will mostly use night trains, is there any routes anyone can suggest? I especially want to visit Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Paris and maybe for the last destination Hannover. I need advice for what other cities or countries can I squeeze into this plan? I have 7 to 10 days travelling time.

If you want to get a taste of Switzerland, you have night trains leaving Basel at 21:13 for Berlin and 11:13 for Amsterdam.
Basel is at the border with Germany, so you wouldn't need a Swiss train pass to get on those trains.
They are very busy, so, even if you take a regular seat, it's safer to make a reservation (it cost me 4.90 euro through the bahn.com website)
