Hi there.

I plan on interrailing with quite a few mates this summer. We are travelling to a few places in Europe and we are a bit worried about where we are going to sleep in each place. I have been told not to book anywhere in advance since we dont know how long we want to stay in each place. However, how are we supposed to find accomodation near to where to get off the train and will rooms be available? Also we dont know our way around these places so how can we find them (cabs)?

Cheers

hi...
you can always check it via internet if there are still rooms available. if you do not pre book in peak times, sometimes you won't get the best hostels. but in most cases you will find a bed in a dorm.
to check the availability, check: [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux]
all the hostels have a map and a description how to find them (from the station, airport, by bus, metro and so on...).
and as well most of the hostels have internet access... so you can book your next hostel when you decide to leave the one you stay simply via internet...
have fun, Peter :)

Hi

I have a rough idea of where I want to go in July/August.
But I still want to be able to go where I want without a schedule.
Is it likely that I will be able to book in hostel in the major european cities, just a day before, especially as it will be peak times?
Or is it definitely better to pre-book in advance?
Will it be hard/stressful to book last minute?

I don't mind not having a good hostel to stay in.

Thanks, Rory
