Im currently 16, 17 in December. Would i encounter any difficulties doing this at 17 rather than 18? I'd be on my own.

hej ... :)
there are a lot of interrailers aged 17 or 16 ... officially you need in most European countries someone adult (can also be an 18year old friend of you) travelling with you ... or at least a sheet of paper where is written that your parents allowed you to travel alone ... as long as nothing happens to you, no one is interested in your age ... :)
