We've got a monthly Interrail Global pass and want to make seat reservations PLUS a couple of overnight ones on the way.
I can't figure out how to do it! I've been to the link on the other post that covers this and when I fill in the trip etc... it comes up with 'error'... :|

Here's the reservations and overnights I'm looking for... PLEASE HELP!

Venice to Vienna - Citynightline - 8.26pm - 8.30am - OVERNIGHT
Brussels to Berlin - Citynightline - 8.46pm - 8.22am - OVERNIGHT
Munich to Amsterdam - Citynightline - 10.42pm - 8.56am - OVERNIGHT
Berlin to Munich - Citynightline - 10.14 - 6.42am - OVERNIGHT
Paris - Barcelona - Trenhotel - 8.32pm - 8.24am - OVERNIGHT

PLUS the seat reservations from Rome to Florence and Florence to Venice...

It's stressing me out!!! :o

Any tips or hints would be SOOOO appreciated!

hej ...
here the solution for you !! :)
if it shows error an online reservation is not possible.
you have to do it then somewhere at a station on your tour.
the CNL (citynightline) reservations you can buy them all at once in Venice (the first place you will use CNL - or also already in Rome!)
if you want you can buy the reservations as well by phone - see the [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[ux] website. :)
I hope this will help you ... sorry ... but the reservation system is really complicate. ||
have fun on your tour, Peter :)

Thanks for your help! It seems like you do this whole think single handedly!! Well done!

Am I safe in thinking that I don;t have to book overnight trains until I get there in that case do you think??

I just don't want to be stuck somewhere!!

Have tried the link above and it said 'fares not available'...

You could do like me. When you arrive at a station, you book the tickets for the next train before you leave to find your hostel. In that way you will always be 2 or 3 days in advance.

Cannot you make these reservations in the place where you live?

yes you often can - but better to do it in a big station - and it is not possible to buy the reservations in every country. ||

Just a follow-up question: If making reservations for a couchette at the station, let's say for the CNL trains emsyjean listed, will I often find it's booked full if the train leaves in 1-2 days? How big a problem is that typically? I'm going in August.

it depends on the day you travel ... Friday and Sunday night, the trains will be full when booking only 2 days in advance ... better to do it one week in advance... :)

I see, thanks! I don't like the thought of planning a whole week ahead, we'll see how it goes ;-)
