Hi everyone,
so I'm a total rookie when it comes to this whole traveling by train business and I hadn't heard from Interrail before yesterday. I'm fascinated by the possibilities created by these rail passes... but have no idea how to work with them :-p
I'm taking the Thalys from Brussels to Paris where I'm meeting up with someone, and we'd like to take the train from there to Algeciras, and then the ferry to Morocco. We wanted to quickly get to Morocco, spend a week or so there, and then take our time going back to Paris. We've thought about staying the night somewhere in Spain on our way down, and in France on our way back.
All of that being said, what's the best way to go about it? What trains should we take, and from which cities? I was told the train from Paris to Madrid was a good idea, but isn't that a very long ride when not done on a night train? Is a night train the only (practical) way to go? I just have no idea how to go about creating a route so I was hoping you guys, the experts, could help me :) Oh, and about the passes, is buying a youth pass for spain and then another one for France the way to go?
Thanks!
Kimberly
