Please help. We will be traveling by train and spending a night at each stop mentioned above. Our travel will be in early October. 1) Is there a pass I can buy that will be cheaper than individual tickets (we are both seniors)? 2) How early should I book these trains? Do they fill up or should we just book a day in advance?

Any advice will be much appreciated!

A simple google would also have given the answer.
1.seniors from 67 get 50% off in NO.
2.a pass will only be useful if you also make other trips-longer as these
3.in NO-like about anywhere in Scandinavia-its post modern: you book online and get it on your fone.

Hi.
No need to buy a rail pass.

Trondheim-Røros from 20 EUR
Røros-Hamar from 20 EUR
Hamar-Oslo from 25 EUR

In October no problem at all to buy the tickets at short note.

Buy it online on www.vy.no , even some routes are served by SJ Nord www.sj.no . But their website booking is not that comfortable.
On these websites you also find the schedules.

Please ask if you have further questions. :)

Peter :)
