Hello,

I am spending a week over New Year's Eve in Narvik with a group of 7 people. The consideration is instead of flying as on the way out by plane, back with the night train from Narvik to Stockholm and from there to fly to Berlin. However, there is of course winter time and rather everything dark (I was not before in Scandinavia at that time of year). So my question: Is it worth the extra cost and time for the night train at that time of year? Can you see the landscape well? Otherwise, I would save traveling Scandinavia by train for another vacation.

Thanks a lot!

at https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/ you can find sunrise and sunset times. In Stockholm there is around 6 hours daylight and in Narvik some 6 minutes a day at that time of year. You will not see the scenic landscape in Samiland.

Quite true what Arend7 answers. Still, I would say it is always worth the extra cost and time to take the train instead of flying.
