Hello, I wanted to see if I need a separate visa to travel by train from Bulgaria to Hungary or can I travel with a Bulgarian visa?

You cannot go directly between the 2-also have to pass-if go by train/ROmania.
HUngary is in the Schengen zone with quite heavy entry rules, Bulgaria not yet-and you did not state your nationality, so you have to check what applies to you. In general you will need to get a Schengen-visa, valid in all the countries in that scheme

And, BTW, both Hungary and Bulgaria are in Europe, not Asia.
