Can I use my Interrail Global Pass and book a couchette on the night train without having to pay for tickets?

Hi!
Yes, Interrail is valid. Unfortunately, single couchette beds are currently not available (due to covid I suppose).
See here for more details: https://www.snalltaget.se/en/berlin

Oh thank you - it's really helpful to know that. I couldn't understand why I couldn't book these. Are only normal seats available then?

Maybe Check directly with Snalltaget - ist seems to me that the translation into English (and German too) is a bit off. The swedish version clearly speaks about a "bäddplats" which probably ist wrongly translated to "reclining seat".

Hi reindeer13, check out also this thread: https://raildude.com/forum/view?id=15614
Bäddplats i delad kupé = Couchette in shared compartment
Snälltåget Stockholm-Hamburg has got no reclining seats ("vilstol(ar)" in Swedish), just seats and couchettes.
