Dear Travelers,
I intend doing an interrail trip and there is no information who leads me to the place where I could buy night-train tickets between Moscow and Kiev and Kiev further to Chisinau in Moldova. I saw the links on railcc but when you press them and search, there are neither availabilities nor prices.

I know there used to be a train (D73AJ 73) between Moscow and Kiev and another from Kiev - Chisinau (train number not available) or there was at least one with changing trains in Vinnica (D747KJ and D361MZ) But all of these are kind of not in the system anymore. Please help me.

Summary what I search:
1. A direct train connection Moscow - Kiev
2. A direct train connection Kiev - Chisinau
3. Prices for both (compartment types available)?
4. Where to book this trains
5. Do they run all year round

Thank y'all so much for helping me out.
Seve

WHEN?
In this case all important, as due to-you guessed it!-covid restrictions-and also the ongoing rift between UA and RU-there are NO trains alll the way at this mo. Noone can tell when again there will be something again.
It seems that if one really, really needs to go this way, there are supposedly buses that bargain/buy their way over the border, claiming to be different companies over the border.

Yes. Covid19 is the current "problem" of international rail travel... :/

Moscow to Kiev:
Calculate with about 60 EUR in a 4 bed compartment and a journey time of 12-14 hours. Several trains are available.
Check ticket fares and schedules on https://rail.shop/russiantrain and https://pass.rzd.ru/main-pass/public/en

Example schedules with departure time Moscow and arrival time in Kiev:

10:41 / 00:23 - continues to Chisinau (18:28)
16:31 / 06:26
17:41 / 07:23 - continues to Lviv (18:32)
19:35 / 08:13
20:41 / 10:23 - continues to Odessa

By the way... if you like it "exotic", continue from Kiev to Odessa. There by minibus (20km cheap) to Chornomorsk.
From there cross the Black Sea by ferry to Batumi (Georgia). Ferry journey time 48 hours, price starting from 100 EUR. Book here: https://rail.shop/ukrferry
Train tickets in Ukraine here: https://rail.shop/uz
See also here on rail.cc where I build this route: https://rail.cc/train/kiev-to-batumi#r3
From Batumi cross the border by bus to Kars. And on to Ankara. See blog post here: https://rail.cc/blog/ankara-kars
Then on the Istanbul, overnight train to Bucharest, ..... ;)

Kiev to Chisinau:
A daily connection is available with a journey time of 13 hours. Ticket price from 30 EUR.
Read the story of Tobi here: https://rail.cc/blog/kiev-chisinau

Maybe next spring the situation looks better... who knows. I hope. :)

The "exotic" detour is also on my list. Therefore I had it in my mind. ;)
