Would like to ask how one could travel by train from northern reaches of Portugal (possibly Porto, or more likely Braga) to Vigo in Galicia, Spain

Hi Joanie.
In the past you had two direct train connections from Vigo to Porto by Celta express trains with just some stops along the route. The journey time between both cities was (and still is 2:15 hours.
The service is currently reduced to only one daily train.

Vigo departure 08:58
Porto Campanha arrival 10:20

The ticket price is 14,90 EUR and you can buy it online on:
Omio: https://rail.shop/omio
or Renfe: https://rail.shop/renfe

For photos and more details, please read the blog post of Flo which you find here: https://rail.cc/blog/santiago-vigo-porto-train

VIGO to BRAGA

And also thanks for the reminder about the time zone change.
I had been in this area once before but it was 2006 and not Vigo (more like Tui and Pntevedra), and also a long time before Covid.
Looking forward to venturing to Europe once more!

Hi.
Currently the night train from Hendaye/Irun to Lisbon is suspended. There is no date given of its return.
https://rail.cc/night-train/hendaye-lisbon-th-313/73

Currently CP (Portugese railways) promotes the route from Porto to Santiago de Compostella with ticket fares starting at 10,30 EUR.
