Hello People!
I'm planning to travel from Germany (Stuttgart) to Faro, Portugal. Does anyone else have traveled that route recently? Since I've never done interrail before I'm not experienced at all and due to covid I'm concered that I won't be able to take my trains... I've read that night trains are shut down? :-(
I'd be grateful to hear some experiences of you guys
and sending warm regards
Julia :-)

Hi Julia.
That's right. Currently the night trains Irun/Henday to Lisbon and Madrid to Lisbon do not run.

There are different bus providers on this route. For example Flixbus. Journey time is 8 to 9 hours. The ticket price is about 15 EUR.
Shorter and fast is in the South: Sevilla to Faro by bus. Read here for details: https://rail.cc/interrail/seville-to-faro
Note: you will need seat reservations for the ICE/TGV train from Germany to France and as well for nearly all trains in Spain.
Peter :)

Hi Julia,

another option would be to go to Madrid; then to Lisbon via Badajoz:
Madrid Atocha 1045 - 1513 Merida
Merida 1525 - 1605 Badajoz
Badajoz 1624 - 1814 Encontramento
Encontramento 1844 - 2020 Lisbon Santa Apolonia
