Hi everybody!

I saw at the Bahn homepage that the night trains from Nice to Venice/Rome/Florence seem to have been cancelled from June 14th! I am planning to use them in August so could someone please tell me if you know anything about this? Also, do you know of any other night trains from southern France to northern Italy?

Desperate for answer...

/Calle

Are there any night trains in that sort of direction, Italy to the South of France etc? Thanks for your help.

We were planning on going from Paris, where we'd spend a few nights, then getting the sleeper train to Venice, travel down to Naples then up to Rome, then Nice (stopping in Ventimiglia) and finally Barcelona and Madrid. I suppose we'll have to rethink everything now. Ah well. Thanks again for your help.

Oh I meant to ask, could anyone suggest an alternative route? It would be greatly appreciated.

maybe think about this... going by day train from the Italian border to Perpignan (it is along the sea... so nice to travel) stay there somewhere for a night at the beach (camping or hotel) and then do the travel through the Pyrenees to Barcelona with the Petit-Train-Jaune (it is free with InterRail and fun)... the better route is to go down from the Pyrenees to the direction of Perpignan, but also good to climb the mountains by train.
the way down from the Pyrenees to Barcelona then is also beautiful !!! :)
