first time interrailer, ticket arrived today, took two days to arrive (didnt choose the extra£25 express delivery option so gald about that).

(ROUTE, in theory;): Home//>Belgium>Holland>Denmark>germany>CZRepublic>Austria>Hungary>Croatia>Slovenia>Austria>Italy>Swisstzerland>France>//Home)

Have questions on equipment.

1. Back pack or wheeley suitcase? im just planning to go to big cities, staying in hostels... so maybe get something like this - http://www.luggagepros.com/mpb/IID17132.shtml?zmam=6548955&zmas=1&zmac=6&zmap=IID17132

or a pack pack like this -

Zodiak 10 on http://www.millets.co.uk//SearchList.aspx?q=brand%7CMILKarrimor(BLG%20Base%20Catalog)%7CKarrimor&refinecategory=MILKarrimorRucksacks(BLG%20Base%20Catalog)|Rucksacks

2. i think i should take a lightweight sleeping bag, have never owned a sleeping bag before so not sure on size etc.. and whether this would fit in a bag similar to the Zodiak 10 as above.

maybe something like this

http://www.millets.co.uk/Camping/Sleeping-Equipment/Adventurer-200-Sleeping-B/product/095000.aspx

3. Do hostels supply pillows? i think a good pillow is very important, but they can be very heavy! just wondered whether to take one or not?

btw, I will also take 2 spare tshirts, 2 evening shirts, lightweight jeans, swimming trunks, flip flops, wind jacket (very lightweight, deflects rain), small towel, toiltries, book, Ipod, 4pack batteries, phone. (will be wearing trainers, long shorts, t-shirt etc..)

4. Also, I only have the interrail map with me, is it worth buying the thomas cook timetable guide ?

http://www.thomascookpublishing.com/book.htm?series=Timetables&book_id=318

Or not bother, play it by ear.

5. Also, It would be difficult carring a-z guides for all the countries i will be visiting, so how exaclty do you know where you are going in a country? asking for directions would be difficult, is there a a map covering all 30 countries in detail?

Also, Not sure exactly where im going, but should i get currency for these 'dont know countries' before going?

The rate is best if i order online, pick up at the airport (Travelex is the best rate for foreign currency in the UK - Just ORDER BEFORE U FLY! otherwise, if u buy at the airport, the rate is low)

I was going to get £50 worth of these 'other' currencies based on one day, if its 2 then £75. they are:

3.Denmark 1day - DANISH KRONE (DKK)
5.CZRepublic 2days - Czech crown (CZK)
7.Hungary 1day - Forint (HUF)
8.Croatia 2 days - kuna (HRK)
12.Swisstzerland 1day - Swiss Franc (CHF)

I dont know if im actually going to these countries, so say if i dont go to denmark, how much would i loose on £50 if i exchange it back when in Germany, for example or would it be best to hold onto it until i get back to the UK?

I'm not sure where you plan on going in Denmark, but if you go to a bigger city you can find a Forex exchange office, they have a guaranteed price better than the banks and don't charge you anything for currency.
They accept international credit cards as visa etc
