Hello there!

I'm wondering whether there is a discount for students when you book your train tickets using some online services like this one https://www.railjets.com. My friends (older than me) constantly use this service during their trips but I didn't manage to find any information about discounts.
Thanks!

Hi!

Services like the one you linked above are simply ticket outlets who sell tickets for trains operated by certain rail providers.
Railjet trains https://rail.cc/en/train-type/railjet-oebb/54 are operated by Austrian Railways ÖBB in Austria and partner companies in the surrounding countries.
ÖBB does not offer a student discount for their trains in Austria, but you can buy "Vorteilscard 26" (19€ for one year) if you are under 26 years of age and get 50% discount on domestic tickets. If you are older you can buy "Vorteilscard 66" (66€ for one year) and get the same discount. Available online at ÖBB website http://rail.shop/oebb
In other countries (such as Czech Republic or Slovakia) a student discount is available for domestic routes, see more at https://rail.shop/cd or https://rail.shop/zssk ; however for international routes usually it is best to buy an advance fare ticket (valid only on the booked train), called "Sparschiene" in Austria.
