We are planning a trip from Stockholm to Lapland in December. Do the trains still run during the winter? Our plan is to depart Stockholm on 17 December and make our way to Rovanaimi. We are aware that the train only goes to Rpben where we have to take a bus over the border.

Hi!

Yes, trains also run in winter :)
It is a very scenic route, even though in the middle of winter it wont really get bright up north (polar night). Schedules for the winter should become available for booking during the next weeks.
