Hi all,

my girlfriend and I are planning to do an interrail trip through Great Britain.
We got the 22 days continuous pass. This is our plan:
Day 1: Munich - London
Day 2-4: London/Oxford (we will sleep in Oxford and want to make a daytrip to London, because we have already been there)
Day 4: Nighttrain to Edinburgh
Day 5-7: Edinburgh
Day 8-10: Loch Awe + region
Day 11-13: Kendal (Lake District) (hiking, ...)
Day 14-15: York
Day 16-17: Cardiff
Day 18-19: Bath
Day 20-21: Wareham (Durdle Door and Old Harry Rocks)
Day 21: Train to London
Day 22: London to Munich

Regarding this route we have some questions:
- What do you think of this route? Is anything nice/important missing? We are interested in nice cities but also in nature and great landscapes that are reachable by train (or bus)
- We heard, that Loch Awe has a scenic landscape and good hiking routes - Do you know anything better or more interesting in this region (that is also reachable by train)? Or can you recommend a budget place to stay anywhere near Loch Awe?
- Kendal: Do you know any nice hiking routes that are reachable by train/bus?
- Bath: we would like to go to a thermal bath, can you recommend any good place?

If you know any good and budget accommodations, we would really appreciate some nice hints.
Thank you very much,
Matthias

Hi Matthias.
I travelled already several times up to Scotland. Edinburgh is good to start from by train.
Have a look at these blog posts:

I will make an overview blog about Scotland by train these days... :)
Peter :)
