We are considering the night train from Budapest to Sibiu, Romania that arrives at 7AM but have heard that trains can be 1-2 hours late in Romania. We have to be at a race by 8AM start time. Please advise if trains are typically running this far behind schedule. Thank you.

Sometimes you have luck, sometimes not. It is hard ro preview. If you have a fixed time you have to be at the start, plan with another connection: https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-sibiu
