Where can I book the night train from Tbilisi (Georgia) to Baku (Azerbaijan) and back? On the websites of the railway companies there are always only national connections. Does anyone have experience in buying international train tickets in Georgia via the Internet?

Hello and welcome.
I know that you can book the tickets in reverse direction (Baku-Tbilisi) online from Azerbaijan railways: https://rail.shop/ady
But this information won't help you. ;)
For Tbilisi-Baku I have the same information as you told: it is not possible to book them online at Georgian railways. Maybe send them an email and they can give you further information: railway@railway.ge
