Hello, I would like to travel this summer with the balkan flexi pass from Belgrade to Athens and I am wondering about the train route from Belgrade to Thessaloniki. Is it better to go through Skopje or Sofia and is there just a night train existing or can I also take the train during the day to Thessaloniki?
Thank you in advance:)
Marille

Hi Marille.
The night train Belgrade-Thessaloniki is back fro this summer from 14 June to 16 September 2019.
Here some additional information in our blog: https://rail.cc/en/blog/belgrade-skopje-thessaloniki-train
And a video of this train - don't expect luxury, but it is a nice adventure: https://youtu.be/jeXIlfCsIXg
Information on the website of Greek railways OSE: http://www.trainose.gr/en/passenger-activity/international-services/international-railway-services/
Reservations are available at a ticket window at the station - not online.
Enjoy your trip, Pete :)

Hello,
we'd like to go from Belgrade to Thessaloniki in summer 2020. Do you know if Hellas Express will be running (at least to Gevgelija)? I couldn't find any information yet...
Thanks a lot,
Susanne

Hi.
The information I have for now and what is also written on the website of Greek railways Trainose is: all international connections stopped until further notice due to Covid-19.
Read here: http://www.trainose.gr/en/passenger-activity/international-services/international-railway-services/
If you find other information, please let me know. :)
Thank you and best wishes, Peter :)
