Good day,

I have some questions..
We make our holiday in Croatie, and around 10/11 august, we want to take the train from Split to Boedapest ( some days Sziget )
We need a night train, with sleeping cabine. What is the best thing we can do ?
I want to book a train before we go on holiday , is that possible ? or we have to book this on the station, when we are there ?

And what will be the cost for 1 person, from Split to Boedapest ?

Thank you

Kind Regards,
Tim

Good morning Tim,

You can book the nighttrain online, try to book it as soon as possible, closer to the traveling date the prices will be higher.
You can book a private sleeping coupe, or a seat, everything is possible depending on your budget and the type of traveling.
With how many people are you traveling?
Do you want a bed or a seat or a Couchette?

Best regards,
Stefan

Hi Tim!

Online booking is possible only via the website of Hungarian Railways MAV START at [ux]https://rail.shop/mav/[/ux].
Pleae be aware that these tickets have to be collected at a ticket machine at selected (larger) railway stations in Hungary!
When starting your trip in Split you have to buy tickets (or at least the reservation) at a train station.

One-way tickets are available from 29€ in a seat ("Fortuna" advance fare ticket); tickets for couchettes and sleepers are available only as a regular ticket+reservation.

You can try and contact a travel agency such as Wasteels in Budapest if they can book and send the tickets: [ux]https://rail.shop/wasteels/[/ux]

Apart from that, the regular reservation should be available at international ticket desks at larger stations in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic,... so that would be an option too if you go to Split by train.
