Hello,
I want to book a train ticket to go in August from Skopje to Athens. Has anyone made this trip and can you inform me?
I do not know what trains I have to take, the price, how to book ...
thanks!

Hi!

There will be only one train in summer from Skopje to Greece; this is the night train Belgrade - Skopje - Thessaloniki: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/belgrade-skopje-thessaloniki-train/[/ux]
This night train stops in Skopje very early in the morning at 0425. Due to construction works in Greece there will be a replacement bus service from the border at Gevgelija to Thessaloniki.
From Thessaloniki there are several direct trains to Athens; use the schedule search here: [ux]https://rail.shop/ose[/ux]
Plan with at least two hours of leeway in Thessaloniki since the night train from Belgrade is notorious for being late.

Tickets can be bought locally; Thessaloniki to Athens is also available online at the link I posted above (at Greek Railway TRAINOSE); it is best to book Skopje - Thessaloniki locally in Skopje (just go to the station the day before departure), Thessaloniki - Athens is cheapest if booked in advance online. Like I said before, plan with enough time in Thessaloniki.

Hi!
A lot of thanks for the information!
So, you recommend buying the first ticket in the same skopje station, and the second ticket online, right?
One thing, on this page rail.shop/trainose nose in which company I have to book, could you tell me?

Yes, buy the first ticket in Skopje (there is no option to book online anyway). You can book the second ticket locally in Thessaloniki or online at [ux]https://rail.shop/ose/[/ux] (I posted the wrong link above sorry). ;)
