What should I pack for an interrail trip?
In what countries do the trains tend to be crowded?
Is sleeping on the train safe?
Any advice about popular cities such as Rome or Paris?

Hi and welcome to railcc!

a) When do you want to travel? How long do you want to travel? In general, dont pack too much, the heavier your backpack is the more annoying it can be to carry it around, especially if you walk around a lot with your backpack. Besides ticket, money/cash/credit card, passport there\'s not much else very important to think of...clothes, good shoes (which are comfortable for walking), mobile phone, charger,...

b) In every country if you catch a train on Friday afternoon, Sunday evening,... Not possible to give a definitive answer without knowing when and where you travel exactly. Anyways, weekends (especially Friday/Sunday) are usually most busiest days for long distance travel while Tuesday and Wednesday are usually not that busy.

c) Yes, however general precautions are recommended - keeping your most important stuff close to your body (especially if you sleep in regular seats where you cannot lock the compartment (as you can do in couchette or sleeper accomodation).

d) What do you want to know?
