Hello

I'm travelling to Lisbon and Madrid this summer. I have tried very hard to find the cheapest way to Lisbon from Madrid; however I haven't found anything cheaper than the Lusitânia Comboio Hotel (92 euro for a return ticket).
I have read somewhere on the internet that the trip can be done cheaper than this if you don't take a direct train, but combine more smaller trips. Do you know if this is true? Also I have read it could be done cheaper if you take the bus, especially if you're a student - Does anybody know about this, because I haven't found anything at the alsa.es webpage.

And a last question - Do you know the easiest way to book , when you're not from Spain/Portugal?

Thanks a lot;
Have a nice summer

Hi Mia ...

here are your answers...

for the night-train Madrid-Lisbon and information about the bus connection have a look at this topic in the forum:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail/madrid-to-lisbon

it is not too expensive as you as well save a night in a hostel.

and here is a connection from France to Lisbon:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/lisbon-hendaye-th-310/74

about a connection with regional trains I don't have any information. sorry.

all the best, Peter :)
