Hello everybody,
we are planning a journey to Greece by train and had to learn there is no possibility to book or reserve train
No 335 from Beograd to Thessaloniki at German railway counters.
We didn´t find this train on Serbian timetable either, but German railway has it listed in its connection to Thessaloniki, so I guess it exists.
Do you know if there is any way of acquiring online tickets and / or reservations? We travel with our 12-year-old daughter and would like to have some certainty concerning our connection. Or is it rather improbable this train is sold out on a sunday in autumn?
Travel date is Sunday, 2018-9-30.

Greetings from Giessen, Germany

Hi Jörg, Christina and Lotty,

the night train does not run from Belgrade\'s old main station anymore since a few weeks (the station has been closed), instead the train runs from the "new" Belgrade Centar station, south of the city centre. However, due to ongoing construction works, the train currently departs from Topcider station and also calls at Rakovica station. Both stations are connected to the public transport system of Belgrade by bus and tram.

it should be possible to get a reservation from Rakovica station at a DB station; otherwise you will have to book locally which shouldnt be a problem at that time of the year.

Please note that there is a bus replacement service between Gevgelija (Macedonian border) and Thessaloniki.
Also, it can happen that the train will be suspended at short notice during the winter months.

Hello Jörg, Christina and Lotty,

I\'m at the moment in Beograd.
My girlfriend and me had the same plan as you, but the lady at the station from the serbian railway company told us, unfortunalety there isn\'t a train from Beograd to Thessaloniki any more. So we decided to take a bus from Beograd to Skopje and the next day from Skopje to Thessaloniki.
The alternative way about Sofia (Bulgaria) is very complicated and not to complete at one day.

Hello RomanDold (and all the other people trying to travel this route),
in fact we were told that the train we at least managed to book (on Sep 30th, the day before the schedule changed), was the last long distance train from Beograd to Thessaloniki, so maybe we were the last Germans to get to Greece by train, as there is only regional traffic left. It was a fascinating trip, the train consisting of only two coaches, one of them being an old shabby but beautiful compartment coach with openable windows! At about half past eleven, a gypsy band got in and rocked the train for about 2 hours. It was kind of a nostalgia trip. Unfortunately, we had to move into a modern regional train at Skopje, and afterwards even switch into buses.

Hi!

Thanks for your report! :)

The train is unfortunately cancelled for the winter period but is said to run again during summer 2019.

I have travelled from Belgrade to Thessaloniki twice onboard this train and both were memorable trips too! :)
