Hello everyone. I am planning on travelling to Greece by train. Has anyone done it before? And if so could you give me some tips considering travelling by train (tickets, bus, hotel, boat e.t.c.)?

Hi.
Recently the required expensive reservations for Interrail pass holders on Greek IC trains was withdrawn. Now you only need a reservation for Euro 1, available at ticket windows at stations. :)
Have a look at this blog where you get some ideas on where to travel: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/train-ferry-greece/[/ux]

Hi and welcome to railcc!
Reservations should actually be free of charge as far as I know?
There are not many railway lines left in Greece; basically you have frequent connections on the main line between Thessaloniki and Athens; additional services are available from Athens to Kiato (and by bus on to Patras for the ferries to Italy); from Palaeofarsalos to Kalambaka (Meteora monasteries, see blog above); from Thessaloniki to Florina (close to Macedonian border (Lake Ohrid) and Thessaloniki to Alexandroupoli.
International trains are operating only from Belgrade via Skopje and from Sofia to Thessaloniki:

Unfortunately, there are almost no trains left on Peloponnes peninsula. Best options for a train trip in Greece are Thessaloniki, Kalambaka/Meteora, Athens, plus Mount Olympos (south of Thessaloniki) an maybe a trip to one of the islands by ferry.
