Hi,
I had travelled on interrail pass few months back and the reservation issued by it for onward journey was invalid due to incorrect date ticket provided to me though the date was given by me. I had contacted the interrail for compensation but they are not agreeing. Please let me know any free of cost ombudsman/legal consultancy which can help me in this matter. Due to incorrect tickets I had to purchase eurostar tickets at full prices.

Hi and welcome to railcc!

I am not sure if I understood your problem correctly?
- you travelled with Interrail?
- you wanted to travel with Eurostar? Which route?
- you bought a reservation for Eurostar? Where?
- the reservation was issued for the wrong date?

Depending on where you bought the reservation and which route you travelled you can contact the passenger rights agency of the relevant country: [ux]https://ec.europa.eu/transport/sites/transport/files/themes/passengers/rail/doc/2007_1371_national_enforcement_bodies.pdf[/ux]

Hi,
my replies are as such;
1. yes I travelled with interrail global pass
2. Eurostar travel from London to Brussels was included in it provided I reserve the seats for aa fee.
3. I bought reservation of Eurostar from Interrail website only. Anyone who buys interrail passes has to make reservations on the trains through interrail website only and online.
4. My pass was valid from 1st Apr but I booked reservation on Eurostar for 31st Mar and the interrail allowed me for this giving me confirmed tickets with seat numbers but when I went to board the train I was not allowed by Eurostar as they said that my interrail pass is valid from 1st Apr only. I could do nothing at that point as I was travelling with my family but to buy Eurostar tickets at full price. Interrail issued me ticket for 31st Mar which was invalid. I contested with interrail that why did you issued me confirmed tickets for 31st Mar when they were not valid. they said that yes this provision is not there in their online system but its the responsibility of the passenger. i told them that when you have issued me confirmed tickets for 31st Mar I had no reason to doubt that. but they did not agree to me to pay my expenses. i am a student and a loss of 610 pounds is big for me. pl help me give some contact of any consumer complaint agency which can help me for free.
Regards

3) No, you can buy reservations through whichever channel you want: railway station, online from the railway companies, through vendors such as ACP Rail,...

4) It seems that you ordered a reservation for 31st March; I dont think that the Interrail reservation service is checking if your Interrail pass (the pass number) is valid on the day of your travel.

I can understand your troubles but I can only recommend to contact one of the passenger right agencies I mentioned in my post above. You can also contact a consumer rights agency in your own country; in the UK this would be which.co.uk I think.

I understand what you are saying. But when you buy Interrail pass, the system there itself asks you to make reservation from their system. Because then, it charges for reservation fee only. I dont know whether eurostar website allows this type of purchase or not. However, since interrail was asking me to reserve seats through their website, i did so. As far as validity check from their side is concerned, I have done correspondence with them 27 times and they have agreed to this that their system does not has this facility and are now introducing this on the basis of my complaint. My basic question was that why did they issued me an invalid ticket by charging me money. No one can sell you something which is invalid and charge you money for that.
Thanks for giving me the link. However pl tell me whether I need to contact Netherland for this? The website of netherland is in dutch language.
regards
