Hey there,

I am planning to do an InterRail trip around Spain and Portugal this September.
I already found a quite good route, but there\'s one problem:
On the InterRail planner website as well as the Renfe-Website, there are only very bad or no routes available after September 17th. For example for San Sebastian - Madrid there are no trains available or the route Barcelona - Sevilla takes over 12 hours instead of just 5.
I found out there\'s a "horario de invierno" (winter timetable), or at least there was one last year.

So my questions are:
- Is there a different timetable from Mid-September this year?
- Are there really no trains riding between San Sebastian and Madrid at that time or are they just not available yet, so I have to wait some days/weeks to find them?
- If there are no trains, are there any alternatives such as busses, which I can use with an Interrail Global Ticket?

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to railcc!

Simply wait for a few weeks and trains will be available in the online schedule planners.
There shouldnt be any significant changes - maybe there will be a new line opened (I read about a new alignment in the Burgos area) and some trains will be a little bit faster but the general offer wont change much.

There will be several direct trains between San Sebastian/Donostia and Madrid, just as now. For a rough planning of your trip you can even use the current timings of the trains to get an idea of your actual route.

There are no buses which you can use with Interrail in Spain.
