I will be Interrailing from UK to Switzerland via Virgin West Coast/Eurostar/DB in July this year and have been trying to get info on the Virgin leg of our journey from Wolverhampton to London Euston. Virgin staff at New Street Birmingham were not helpful and I read somewhere that another traveller had succeeded in reserving seats by using the Web Chat on the Virgin website (Only seat reservations as the ticket is included in the Interrail on one outward and one return journey). I tried to get on the webchat but frustratingly, Virgin require you to fill in name/email etc details in a box which is locked in position on the screen and the size of which is larger than the screen so if there is a submit button, it is off the screen. I subsequently emailed Virgin, both asking the original question about reserving seats and also telling them that their webchat is crap (didnt say that exactly, obviously, I was much politer), anyhow, their reply was taken froma standard crib sheet abour advance bookings generally and completely failed to address the question. If anyone is still with me on this, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello and welcome.
With your Interrail pass you do not need a reservation in trains in the UK.
If you want to buy one to have a relaxed travel, the solution is ACPRail! :)
They are the only ones who sell Interrail reservations for the UK... and by the way, they are also very nice people which I know personally! :)
Try their website here [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux]
It is called there "Britrail" - no worries, it is the same product for Interrail.
I hope this answer will help you. And if you like the free content on rail.cc, support us and buy at no extra costs for you your Interrail pass via our partner links [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you! :)

Pete, thanks for your response.
We already have Interrail tickets as we bought in March from a local travel agent when there was a special offer on (the agent says he cannot do the virgin legs of our outward and return journeys). The main reason I wanted to make reservations is because there seems to be a lackof knowledge (or inerest?) in Interrail from Virgin staff and so I am trying to mitigate against any ticket inspector causing us a problem on the Virgin trains if they think our tickets are not valid.I also thought it would be a sure way of us getting to sit together on the first day of the UK school holidays.
I have visited the website you suggested but it says there are no tickets available, so maybe this means we cannot reserve seats either, I guess it does. Anyhow, I have one more option and that is to tweet Virgin and see if that produces a sensible response. Thanks again, Mike

Hi Mike.
What date and time do you want to travel exactly from Wolverhampton to London? Maybe reservations are not available that much time in advance?!
Anyway... from my experience it is usually a lack of knowledge concerning "Interrail".
Pete :)
