5 of us are traveling with our bicycles and would like to take a train at the end of our trip on July 14 from Andermatt to Bern, Switzerland. Are bicycles allowed on the trains (without bike bags) and should we buy the tickets ahead of time (and do we pay for the bikes also)?

You can either take the bike with you or you can send it ahead and pick it up at the railway station in Bern.

Further information under https://www.sbb.ch/en/station-services/auto-velo/on-the-move-by-bike.html

When you take the bike with you, you could make the route from Frutigen to Berne by bike. It goes down all the way and you gonna enjoy the ride and the view for sure. If you send the bike ahead, you could make a boat trip on the way either on lake lucerne or lake Thun. Depends on the way youre taking.

Enjoy your trip and have a good time in Switzerland!
