Hi and welcome to railcc!

As far as I know there is no possibility to make the reservation online. You have to buy the reservation (and ticket, if needed) locally at a train station. In Istanbul, best option is to go to Sirkeci station in the city centre on the European side.

I went to the train station today here in Istanbul and the woman
insisted that they have no Sleeper - SINGLE | 1-bed-compartments.

I am planning to go with my two cats, so I would have to buy all four seats in a
4 person couchette, she claimed, if I wanted it all to myself and the cats, which is
important on such a long trip. I bought a first class sleeper to go from Bucharest
to Budapest in 2017 because it was 20 hour night train.

She told me she would charge 1,342 Turkish Lira for the 4 bed couchette, about
200 Euros or $225 USD.

Did you ever get the single, or run into the same info?
